I was 8 hours away last year. She's in Virginia and I was in Charleston, SC. It was far as hell but definitely drivable and if we wanted to fly it actually wasn't that much more than gas would've cost. Now I'm up in Boston so one of us has to fly, and these flights aren't as cheap. It's not the end of the world. Her mom has a ridiculous amount of frequent flier miles from business, so she helps a lot, but still.

i know how you feel...my fiance and i were long distance for 2 1/2 years...B'ham, Al and Chicago...so not remotely clsoe...it's definitely tough and i certainly get your excitement...you kids have fun now!

I've been lusting after that Riviera for so long. It actually made its way into this dump because my girl told me she wanted a car with hydraulics at some point (she's a tiny white girl who grew up on dope West coast rap. I'm more of an East coast kind of guy, but it's awesome), around the same time I started really wanting either a '65 Riv or a '64 Impala. We discussed. She said if I buy the car, she'll buy the hydraulics.

This is the beginning year two. Charlottesville, VA and Boston, so actually about the same distance I think. We're making it work pretty well so far, but these really are the best weekends.

It's one of the very few American cars I actively lust over. I'm usually a Euro nerd (thus the 2002), but the 65 Riv, 67 Continental, and 38 Buick Coupe make me feel some type of way.
